Somebody said that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing

ReplyDelete1.) The poem is saying that no matter what something is, no matter how many people say you can't do it, you can. There's gonna be people that try to bring you down and say you can't accomplish things. The moral is, that you can.
ReplyDelete2.) Based upon my experience this, to me, means that you have to prove people wrong. You have to show that you are capable of so much more than the people who doubt you. You can't listen to negative people like that and listen to yourself, and say that you can.

They differ because the quote is saying that you can prove people wrong and do the impossible. The video is saying that you need to have people wanting to be like you. 5.) This matters because i have to be willing to make smart choices. I have to be willing to leave my comfort zone and do all that is needed to succeed. I have to have the unlimited potential that is inside me and strive for the success I need so I can be happy and live a wealthy life. It also matters because I want people to look up at me, want to be like me. I want people to think of me as an icon.
The ways I can apply this to my life is pretty simple. As simple as it is it's not going to happen overnight. It'll take time. I'm going o have to study a lot, do my homework more often, stop getting so comfortable in the ways I work, etc.. It's going to take a rough path but it will be worth the journey.

1. This poem means that people will try to tell you that a certain task is impossible to do. You have to ignore their comments and try your hardest to prove them wrong.
2. Based upon my experience, this poem means that no matter what, there will always be people trying to make you believe you are incapable of something. No matter how easy or difficult the task is, you must work your hardest. If you work hard enough, you will prove them wrong.
3. On separate paper.
4. The video and poem are similar in many ways. One way they are similar is both tell you to work your hardest. Another is both the video and poem tell you that along the way, people will try to tell you that you cant do something, but you have to ignore their comments and prove them wrong. The video and quote differ because while the poem only tells you that people will try to stop you along the way, the video explains that many other things will stop you from doing something, like the fear of failure.
5. These sources matter in many ways. The first reason this poem and video matter is because both inspire people to always try their hardest. 1) The poem is saying that always believe in yourself to achieve big things. Do the impossible, you make it possible. Stun them all by doing what none of them thought you could do.
2)I Based on experience this means don't let other people drag you down. I had people tell me I'm not good at soccer and that I'll never make it far. It motivated me to work harder and dream bigger now I play for one of the best teams in the nation. Having people doubt me was good because now they want to do the same work which means I work harder.

4) The video and poem both similarities and differences. For example, they are similar because they both are telling us that they want us to succeed. They both also tell us success isn't easy it takes hard work to get success. A final similarity is that they tell us that people will criticize, but we have to strong to overcome it and succeed. Some differences are that the poem is telling us that there is no such thing as impossible. The video is telling us that fear of failure holds us back and keeps us from winning. A second difference is that the video is telling us that we hold ourselves back when the quote states, we are what pushes ourselves to the limit.
5) The knowledge of the concept is matters because it's letting us know not to give up. To always try no matter how much you fail. It's telling us that failure doesn't exist because we learn from our mistakes. They are also letting us know that with that hard work winning and finishing will be the best felling in your life. Finally, they just want us to keep grinding until the day we die.
I can apply it to my life by waking up at 5:00 am and go to the gym before I go to school. I know when it gets painful and uncomfortable that I can push through and finish. I can also turn off my phone for an hour a day to study or read instead of texting. I could also always ask myself, "What do I truly want?" By asking myself that I can keep grinding not take breaks and reach my goal. To conclude this "Daily Writing", Applying this to my life is helpful because when I want to quit I know I'm getting farther to reaching my goal.

1. This poem is saying even if everybody says you can't do something, you should try it anyways. You can prove everybody wrong. You can make something that everybody thought was impossible possible.
2. This means that even if someone tells you that you can't do it, to do it and to not let them be a discouragement. If other people don't believe in you, you should still believe in yourself and do it anyways. This means you must prove everyone that said you couldn't do it wrong by doing it.
4. The video and quote are similar because the video says you want peoples approval to do something and the quote says that just because other people say you can't doesn't mean you can't. They both talk about how other people can affect what you do so easily. They can convince you to not do something so easy but that can't convince you to do something easily. The difference between them is the video says you want somebody to tell you to do something but the quote says that people tell you you can't do things. They're almost the opposite but with the same idea.
5. This matters because other people can be a big influence in your life. They can stop you from doing things that might help you be successful. Just by saying you can't do it they can stop you and make you believe that. It matters because people need to stop getting discouraged from people and do things anyways. They need to at least try and not do it all just because someone says they can't.
People always need others to like them or approve of them before doing something. That isn't a good thing because you should do things because you want to or it will help you. This makes everybody stay in their comfort zone and not explore new things they might be good at. It matters on what you truly want and not what others want from you. I think this is a key thing in life that people need to know.
I can apply this to my life to make it better by making my own decisions to do things. I won't let anybody discourage me from doing anything because it doesn't matter if they think that, it matters if I try. I won't let other people influence me on the things that I do. It matters about you and only you.

1. Whenever someone tells you, "You can't do it.", prove yourself and do it. And, always do so with a victorious smile on your face. Sing a tune if you'd like, as well.
2. Based upon my experience this means to me to never give up when someone brings you down. When I was younger whenever somebody told me I couldn't do something I'd do it, because I was a careless, free, and rebellious child. Though in the end sometimes I would get hurt.
3. Finished in class on separate paper.
4. The video and quote are similar in one way that says to never give up. They are both quite motivational, as well. They tell you to prove people and wrong and that other people's opinion about your dreams and achievements don't matter. They bother differ with the way they are represented. While one is a poem the other is a modern video with clips from movies.
5. This matters, because there are always people letting themselves be brought down by other people's opinions and actions toward them and their goals in life. People need to know and understand that other people's negative thoughts about they're life plan don't matter. It only matters when you believe in them and that you believe in yourself that you can do and achieve them. Your dreams weren't given to them, so they wouldn't understand. They were given to you, because you believed in your greater good and what good you could bring with your work.
I can apply these concepts to my life and make it better by supporting people with their dreams and not letting myself, the person, or other people say negative things to bring them down. I believe people have the right to decide their future and do good things with it. If they need help with their goals or self esteem I could help them. I could help people stand up for themselves and defend them. Be there in their time of need.

In the poem people told him/her they could not do it but he/she ignored them and showed them that they were capable of doing it.

This also means to be a leader not a follower because if you believe everything people say then most likely you will have the same outcome as them. So you should always go with what you know is best for you otherwise you could lose a shot at a great chance.

You should not rely on anyone but you because you will always be there for yourself.
5. I think these sources matter because the fear a failure is a feeling everyone has had. In the video they show what you lose if you do not take the chance and what you earn if you take the chance. Like studying for a test can be the difference between an A or an F. But most importantly do not wait for an opportunity to come to you, you have to go for it. A human has unlimited potential and no matte what situation you are in right now you can change your life but it is up to you.
Do not try and make everything come to you. Leave a trace before you leave this world because a ton of people leave without being remembered. You can fail it is a part of life you can take defeats losing is a part of life. You do not need anyone to approve your choices it is up to you. But go all out if you want success in your life.
Lastly in pain is were you develop growth and experience. We all now it will be painful but pain is a part of success. know what you're capable of and what you're not capable of. And finally do not let other people your future other than you.

1.Many of the times where you try something new, people will say that you will never be capable of achieving it all the way through.But you shouldn't let that negativity stop you from reaching what you actually deserve.Some of the things in the world may be considered impossible but they can turn out to be possible if you give it all you got.
2.From my perspective,this may mean that letting the opinions of others will cause you to either stop or give up.Stopping from something you really like will only get you half of what you actually want in life.One of the ways that will slow you down is by putting a lot of stress on yourself with many negative questions.Based on one of my experiences,saying its possible to something that many people deny its easy path to will most likely motivate me to keep going to reach the limit and show everybody that I was able to do it.

4.The poem and video have some similarities.Throughout both sources they both talk about letting others thoughts keeping you from continuing onto the path you really want.For example in the poem it says,"That couldn't be done and he did it"(Guest,8) and in the video it said,"We don't want to act because we want others approval.These pieces of evidence both relate to each other.The poem and the video both state that you shouldn't let others thinking slow you down.The sources can also have some differences between them both.One of them talks about a certain situation with a person while on the other hand the video talks about many different types of ways to keep you going throughout this process.

I can put these concepts in my life by not caring what other people think of me. I actually do have a friend at my church who's going through stuff like this. As a friend, I do help her out with this situation and give her advise on how to face her fear. I was in this situation when I was in middle school. I had a lot of people say that I wouldn't make the basketball that year. It turns out that I never made it, but it didn't stop me from trying and I still am trying.

1) The poem by Edgar Albert Guest is stating that there will always be those people that will say that you cannot do something, whether that person is a friend, a family member, or yourself, you should never just give up, you should keep trying and eventually you will complete it.
2) This poem just summarizes what happens to me when I have a task to do that is very difficult. Many of my friends say that I cannot do it, but I prove them wrong everyday. Sometimes the person that is beating my self-esteem down is myself, because I always think that I cannot do many tasks because they seem to difficult, but I don't even bother in trying at the task to see if I can do it or not. For example, to get into the AAA program, we had to a math assessment and an essay for language arts and I was nervous when they teacher passed out the papers because it seemed to difficult, but I tried my hardest, and I earned my spot in the AAA program. Even though the task seemed hard I tried and now I can say, "I did it."

#4) Both the video and poem talk about taking chances even though the chance seems hard to complete. In the poem it is talking about a man that is told that he cannot do certain things but the man proves them wrong by trying and accomplishing the task. In the video, it talks about how people wait for the right moment to go and try new opportunities but that is wrong because that moment will never come unless you go for it. The video and poem talk about the same topic but they give different examples and that's what makes them slightly different.
#5) Knowing that if you try and are determined then you can do anything is important because many people think that you are incapable of doing something and makes you think that you cannot do it, but all you have to do is try. If you are just deciding if you should go for the new opportunity, just go for it because this may be your only shot at it. We should all just take chances so that later on we will think to ourselves, "What if." Many of people care about what other people think but we shouldn't because they are just mad because they weren't given the opportunities you were given or earned.
If I have an opportunity to go to my dream college or have a shot at my dream job, I shouldn't just wait I should go for it because this is my only shot to benefit my future. There are those times that I think that I will fail because I failed before but if I tell myself," You can do it," and put in the time and effort then I know that I will be able to do it. People will always put you down or tell you no, but you just keep trying until you find your yes. Also, we should know as well as myself should know that whatever you are seeking, is seeking you and you should not let anything get in the way of you accomplishing what you want.

2. To me, this means you can achieve whatever you want to achieve. Don't let other people put you down. If you just focus on what you want to do and actually try and apply effort you can achieve it.

The fear in the poem is when people tell us we can't do things. This actually keeps us from trying new things because we fear that we will fail. Some of the things that make them differ from each other is that the video mentions that we as human beings make excuses so we can make ourselves feel better.
5. There are many ways about why this poem matters. It informs us on the human nature of some people. How others just always tell you that you aren't able to do it. This poem matters because when it mentions that people tend to put others down with their words it ruins some other persons life. If we can prevent this from happening there will be no limits. Now here are a few reason to why this video matters so much to our lives. The video mentions how people always make excuses to make themselves feel better. This is a bad type of habit. If we keep lying to ourselves to make things better we will make no progress. Mostly people do this because of laziness. This also leads to no personal discipline. Instead of us taking the responsibility for our own actions, we blame it on others.
I can apply some of these concepts to my life by taking responsibility for my own actions. I can also apply some things from the video to my life. For example stop lying to myself just to make things feel better. If you keep lying to yourself just to feel better, you will make no achievements in life. Something else too that I can apply to my life to make it better is to stop waiting for things to be perfect. Nothing is going to be perfect unless if you do something to make it perfect.

1. I think this poem means no to believe everything people say about you because at the end of the day the decision you make about your future is entirely up to you and not them. In the poem people told him/her they could not do it but he/she ignored them and showed them that they were capable of doing it.

This also means to be a leader not a follower because if you believe everything people say then most likely you will have the same outcome as them. So you should always go with what you know is best for you otherwise you could lose a shot at a great chance.

4. The video is the same as the quote because it teaches you that success is not up to anyone but you. We settle for less then we actually deserve when we deserve more. It differs because the video tells you why you should only rely on yourself and the poem shows us an example of someone being confident and succeeding. I think the video was better because it was more motivational and it told you the truth like it will be hard but it will get payed off. You should not rely on anyone but you because you will always be there for yourself.
5. I think these sources matter because the fear a failure is a feeling everyone has had. In the video they show what you lose if you do not take the chance and what you earn if you take the chance. Like studying for a test can be the difference between an A or an F. But most importantly do not wait for an opportunity to come to you, you have to go for it. A human has unlimited potential and no matte what situation you are in right now you can change your life but it is up to you.
Do not try and make everything come to you. Leave a trace before you leave this world because a ton of people leave without being remembered. You can fail it is a part of life you can take defeats losing is a part of life. You do not need anyone to approve your choices it is up to you. But go all out if you want success in your life.
Lastly in pain is were you develop growth and experience. We all now it will be painful but pain is a part of success. know what you're capable of and what you're not capable of. And finally do not let other people your future other than you.

1. In my own words, I believe the proper summary format for this poem would be the fact that anything that you choose which needs to be done shall be done. Your goals are your desire, no matter what anyone or anything does to try to stop you. What ever YOU desire to do, let that be. If you want to become an astronaut, then you CAN become an astronaut. If you want to become a scientist, then you CAN become a scientist. Who are they to tell you otherwise. You are the only one who has the POWER to become what ever you would like. Don't ever let anyone take that away from you.
2. Based upon my experience, this poem means so much to me because when I was younger, my biggest dream was to grow up playing soccer, and hoping to be professional. So it was kind of uncomfortable most of the time because most people when I were younger around the age of 9-10 years of age, were either Caucasian or Latin-American. I would be most of the time the only African American on the team. Anyways, when I was younger, I would always get put down by other people, saying, " You can't do this, you're black." Or, ,"GO PLAY FOOTBALL KID." And man, that would beat me up so bad. But, honestly, those insults and mean things, actually helped me, and a couple of years after, I played for one of the best academies in our country,"LA Galaxy U-11 & U-12." So based upon my experience, hatred, denigration, anything hurtful to one another, can also be a lesson learned.
4. In my perspective, the video and quote were typically the same. The quote had the EXACT same meaning as the video. The quote, stated that If you have a goal to achieve, then you shall achieve it. And for the video it also stated that if you have a goal to achieve, then you shall achieve it.
5. Ultimately, this quote shall mean that anything that is in your mind, can overpower anything that you shall not even want to accomplish. Anything that you choose to acquire, can be accomplished. But it's up to you to choose rather you should want to push through and push forward on the attempt to become successful with your dreams.
If you are successful and willing to put in the work to accomplish your dreams, then it will INDEED happen. No matter what the media, or the townspeople say. Your dreams are untouchable. Your dreams;goals can't be touched. Because they belong to YOU, no one else. Your goals, are as priceless as one trillion dollars.

5) I could apply this on my life to make it better because I attend to give up on doing something because I would get to lazy to keep going.I attend to give up on is homework after football practice because i get lazy and to tired to do it.I tell my self that i could do it latter and its not do tell the next day its a bad habit to do that because when the time comes i don't have my work done on time.This is a bad habit for me because i loser points and when i fall behind its hard for me to get caught up on all the work that i would miss.
This matters because if i keep this attitude it wouldn't get me no where it would hold me back from my dream.When i don't do my stuff on time it would hold be back this matters because n one would want someone who lags to do there stuff and never on time to turn it in.This is a big part because if i am lazy to do my stuff i wouldn't do it and it could affect me a lot from where i'm trying to go to.I could apply this to make me better because if i do my stuff and not lazy it would help me be a lot more responsible

4. The video and quote are similar in various ways. For example, in the video "I Will Win" by MotivationalGrid, it stated, "You can't make anyone approve your dreams or who you wanna be in life." In the quote it talked about how not to listen to the negative things people say about you and to just put in all the effort you can. This shows that the video and quote are similar in the way that they said not to take in negative or untruthful things people say. The quote differs from the video because in the video " I Will Win" it said how to convince yourself you can do or be someone in life and in the quote it just said to ignore untruthful comments individuals say about you.
5.a Ultimately this matters to me because it is important to tell yourself you can and keep convincing yourself that you will succeed in life. Then if you don't tell yourself this you'll end up being a failure in life. This shouldn't happen because everyone has the ability to be successful as long as you try your best. For example, on his last game everyone thought Michael Jordan wasn't going to play as good as he did on his other games. But he fought through the sickness he had and injuries and he kept telling himself yes he can and so he did.
5.b This quote and video matters to me in various ways. Some reasons why is this matters is because part of my life in elementary and some of middle school I use to always believe in what people say about me. That affected me in a way that I got mostly Ds and Cs because I use to think I was stupid. But as time went by and I matured and realized that I shouldn't care what other people think about me. I am my own person and I decide what I do with my life not them. In 7th, 8th and 9th I've been getting nothing but Bs or higher because I kept telling myself I can and I will.
5.c This matters to me because its important to think about what you wanna do in life. If you know what you wanna do in life then you have a better chance on having a high paying job. From my experience, I've seen my dad work hard and he is really setting a good example for my little sister and brother. Parents are the one who can really convince or actually make you become a better person. But there are some parents who just don't give damn about you or your life. So it's extremely vital to put in all your effort because sometimes your parents won't push you to be successful so it's all on you to decide what you want in life.

2.Based on my experience, the quote means that the only thing the prophecy will give you is failure, people will tell you you are going to fail. Do not let the negative feedback take you down.Keep that feedback as motivation to keep you down, with a grin on your face, tackle the beast known as difficult.

2. To me, this means you can achieve whatever you want to do in life. Don't let the words or comments of other people bring you down. If you put effort and dedication in what you are doing or want to do you will be successful.
4. The video and quote are similar because they both talk about how you should not listen to other people. You should believe in yourself and not let fear hold you back. They differ because the video is telling us that we make excuses for not trying. And the quote is telling us that we will do it. These are the things they are similar and different .
5. This matters because it can teach many people a lesson. This can make people transform and become better. People need to start believing in their abilities and what they are capable of doing. Other people will not make you successful. This will make you say yes to yourself.
This also matters because it could help people make the right chioces. This also matters because they are giving you examples of what is making you fail. Also this can help you by becoming a better person and having a more positive mindset. You have to work hard in order to accomplish what you want. It will have a great impact in your life.

ReplyDelete2). Based upon my experiences this poem is about taking risks. This poem is also about ignoring people who try to persuade you that it can't be done. Do not listen to those people and do it anyways.
4). The video and quote have some similarities but they also have some differences. One of the similarities that they both talk about not waiting for people's approval to do things. Another similarity is that they both want you to try new things and not to wait around. One of the the differences is that the video talks about the negative outcomes that can happen even if you try. The video explains even if you fail you can try again.
5). The video and the quote both are both important concepts that could possibly help life be better. We have to remember that we don't need people to approve our dreams. You can't depend on other people to prove what possible in your life you have to try it out yourself. We are sometimes scared to try in fear of failing. We can be especially scared if we've already failed because we are scared of failing again.
The quote shares very important concepts. The main concept of the video is to not let the people telling you it can't be done get to you. The guy in the quote doesn't listen to those telling him it can't be done until he attempt it himself. After the struggle of tackling his goal he did the thing that they said could never be done. We can apply that to our lives by remembering we can't turn down opportunities just because no one else has done it we have to figure it out ourselves if it can be done or not by trying it.
The video talks about not settling for less that way you deserve. This is important to apply to life because when we decide to act we will be able to grow. It's important for us to leave a mark or trace in the world of ourselves. The video also shares that it's important for us to get out of our comfort zone and try new things even if they're scary, we have to remember to take risks and not think so much about the risk of failure. Also the video helps remind us that it won't be easy and it'll be uncomfortable and painful but we'll learn to grow. Overall both of the the video and quote are important to remember.

1. In my own words this quote is trying tho tell us that nothing is impossible if nobody else has tried to do it. A million people can try something but just because they don't succeed at it or they just completely fail doesn't mean that its impossible cause there can be one guy that that's easily for and does it easily but not until everyone tries its impossible. If people say that sword cant be taken out that rock and 1 million 2 million and even 3 million people try doesn't mean it will be ever taken out someone is eventually going to take it out of the rock.
2. Based upon my experience this quote means to me like if someone tells me this thing is impossible to do and if i try it and fail that doesn't mean that the thing were trying to do is impossible it just means that us two cant do it but i'm sure somewhere else someone is doing what we cant do. or if someone tells a girl its impossible for a girl to work as a astronaut i'm pretty sure later on in the future there's going to be like 100 girls that are astronaut.

1. The poem is about someone that was told that something couldn't be done, but what did this person do ? This person went out and at least tried, and guess what, he did it. The poem also talks about how many people in life will tell you, " you can't do this" or " you can't do that," but you as the individual that has control over YOUR life can say otherwise.
2. The meaning of this poem, based upon my experiences, is to learn to not care what other people say and to do what you want to do. What I mean by that is, not to disobey our parents orders or anything similar to that, but to not listen to the negative people that don't want you to succeed. Don't let anyone's failures detour you from your success.

If someone told me i couldn’t do something , I would try even harder to prove them wrong.
